The Chinese government said health centers should report cases of newly confirmed coronavirus infection, but without Covid 19 symptoms within two hours of diagnosis.
In a document released Wednesday evening, the State Council of China issued formal guidelines regarding cases that have been confirmed to have had 19 disease, but without any symptoms such as cough, fever and pneumonia.
The move comes at a time when China recorded a daily increase in the number of infections with the Corona virus who did not show symptoms of the disease from Chinese citizens and foreigners.
China announced, on Wednesday, that 56 cases of the virus were recorded from those who do not show symptoms of the disease, 28 of whom are foreign expatriates, to bring the total number of undiagnosed cases who are under medical supervision in the country 1104, according to the Chinese newspaper"South China Morning Post" .
The document pointed out that patients who do not suffer from symptoms of the disease are contagious, and they pose a risk by spreading the infection and transmitting the virus to others, adding that some cases have been confirmed but without the appearance of accompanying symptoms, which means that these symptoms will appear later in the infection.
"We must enhance the scope of testing and monitoring of infected cases without symptoms, and standardize the reporting system for those patients who do not have symptoms of the disease," she added.
The guidelines recommended that local health institutions report these cases within two hours of positive disease test results.
Hence, district health authorities must report these cases within 24 hours through the central reporting system for infectious diseases nationwide.
The guidelines stress the increasing importance of the Chinese authorities for managing and assessing the risks posed by asymptomatic patients, as cases without symptoms threaten Beijing's efforts to contain the virus, despite the fact that the number of patients with symptoms has decreased significantly since January.
According to the new guidelines, cases confirmed with Covid 19 disease without accompanying symptoms can only leave health facilities after 14 days and after confirming the negative results of their medical exams twice.
They must also return to undergo tests in the second and fourth weeks of leaving the hospital, as is the case for procedures followed for patients who have symptoms.
Once symptoms appear, the document says, they will be immediately sent for medical treatment, and all people who have been contacted and who do not have symptoms of the emerging coronavirus will be isolated and monitored.
