Tanzanian President John Maghovoli said that his country has not yet banned gatherings in churches and mosques because these places have a "successful treatment" for the disease.
"The Corona Virus is a demon that cannot live in Christ's place, and it will burn right away. This is the time to build our faith," Maghovoli, a devout Catholic with a doctorate in chemistry, was quoted as saying.
Maghovoli made the remarks during a Sunday mass in the capital Dodoma, where he was accompanied by other worshipers.
he president said: "This disease will pass completely like other diseases, but we must continue to follow the instructions of experts."

Tanzania has so far recorded 12 cases of coronavirus,including eight Tanzanians.
Tanzania, located in the east of the African continent, closed all its schools and universities, and the state suspended all sporting activities for at least 30 days after it was confirmed that the first infection with the Corona virus in the country.
